Everyday Make-up (simple)

Well, hello there. (*posh voice*)

Your everyday make up routine obviously has to take very little time and is preferably rather simple...

- you don't want to have to dedicate too much of your precious time in the morning to putting the stuff on

 - if you wear too much everyday then you won't be able to put any more on to look especially nice at an important event

So in this post I would like to show you want I put on my face most days...
(I will maybe do a separate skincare post later on)

Almost every day, I wear only one shade of eye shadow, and this is usually the Bourjois Light 03.

After that, I put on a few strokes of mascara, either Clinique High Impact Mascara ( here ) or Maybelline Great Lash (12.5ml - there is also a bigger one but I don't know if this means its brush is bigger) ( here ) .  I find that the Maybelline one applies more product per stroke than the Clinique one, and its small brush means I can use it for my bottom lashes more easily.  (However I think highly of both these mascaras and the two separate my lashes very well, rarely clumping them.)

If I give my eye shadow a miss (although sometimes I wear the two together), it means I can wear my highlighter without going to overboard with the shimmer... I use the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige which I am very fond of (except this is my only one so I have nothing to compare it to) - I solely put it on my cheekbones but others put it on the bridge of their nose, on their cupids bow and across the forehead as well.

As you may know, I have only recently purchased a bronzer, and I would say that I would use it and my highlighter separately - as my bronzer is also (slightly) shimmery. (But I would probably wear it with eye shadow - something I rarely do with my highlighter.)

To finish I will apply something to my lips...
-  Clinique Chubby Stick in Woopin' Watermelon
-  The Body Shop Strawberry lipgloss
-  Superdrug Moisturising Balm (99p - a replica of Nivea's although not quite as good)
-  Or anything else I have lying around

By the way...
As I usually get some of my mascara on my eyelid very close to my lash line, I use cotton wool buds to get it off without ruining the mascara that's actually in the right place (just wet it with something e.g water or makeup remover).  Just wanted to let you know if you didn't do it already!

Here is a close up of my eye make-up at not a very flattering angle ....

Exeter - Outfit Post and What I Bought ☯

So yesterday I went to Exeter for the first time in a while with my friend Anna (see her blog here).  We had a great time going around all of the shops there (mainly Topshop, H&M and Boots) and had lunch in Wagamamas (délicieux).
The trip meant that I could do my first outfit post!!

What I'm wearing...
Coat ~ Next
Jumper ~ Zara (kids)
Jeans ~ Levi's
Bag ~ Kipling
Boots ~ Dr Martens

It was rather a simple outfit thrown together at the last minute and so is nothing particularly special!

PURCHASES £££
Before I left I decided that the thing on the top of my list should be a bronzer - so that was the main product I wanted to buy.

- Délice de Soleil Bronzing Powder by Boujois (with SPF 15) ( here )

This bronzer has proven very good for my fair skin (I was worried I would turn orange so I picked quite a light bronzer (well, In comparison to many others))

- Vintage Renewal Velvet and tartan scrunchies from Urban Outiftters ( here )

My friend and I swatched so many lipsticks in Boots (namely Maybelline and Revlon ones) and agreed that Summer Pink was one of the prettiest Maybelline colours - however neither of us ended up buying any.  (Next time I go I hope to buy some Revlon or Maybelline lipstick).

Some Instagram photos of Anna and me to finish....

This isn't us trying to look our best btw. ✌

Gorgeous Pip Studio Bedding

I'm in bed right now.  Seems kinda irrelevant at first - but I promise it's not. (Actually I'm guessing you read the post title so it's probably not that surprising) ANYWAY.
I'm lovely and cosy under my Pip Studio patterned duvet cover, throw and resting on my pillow with the detailed floral case - that my mum and I splashed out for in the December sale at Daisy Park, the shop that makes South Molton a town worth going to.
The Pip Studio bedding is absolutely gorgeous, with divine intricate patterns, and is of very high quality too.  I cannot stress enough how much it has brightened up my room!
One problem though... I think I'm wanting to sleep until perhaps a little too late in the mornings thanks to the softness of the duvet cover (the school bus will just have to wait I suppose).

A Bit of Music For Y'All

I think music is an incredibly important thing to enjoy and to have in your life.
It is either extremely annoying (you know, when you have one line of a song you hardly know in your head all day and you can't stop singing it even though you're getting the words wrong and... yeh. It gets on your nerves) or very useful when you're feeling down - sometimes listening to a good song lifts your mood as you forget what's making you unhappy.
It can also make you concentrate - I heard that classical music is good for when you need to focus and maybe get a little creative as it changes the rhythms in your brain (ooh clever).
On the subject of concentration though, it's generally better to avoid songs with words as they can prove distracting and (for me, anyway) will definitely throw you off task.
I thinks it's good to 'span the genres' (quote from The Mighty Boosh.  Haven't seen it? You're missing out.  Big time.) when it comes to listening to music.  Peopole (especially teenagers) are, in a way, expected by society to listen to Pop the whole time (what with Radio 1's Top 40 thing and all...) which I'm not at all criticising - only I think it's necessary to consider other types of music, perhaps Indie, Rock, Electro, Alternative Rock (... the list goes on...).  listening to different types of music made me realise how I value authenticity when it comes to the singers (by which I mean that listening to singer songwriteers and bands who do not use computer technology to edit their voice made me a lot less keen on those that do).
Bands/ artists that I've been particularily into recently are:

Nirvana (Woah. Kurt's eyeliner...)

Two Door Cinema Club

Ed Sheeran (ALWAYS)

The Smiths (don't hate me)

Vampire Weekend

The Kooks

The Stone Roses

Rudimental

Lily Allen (her older stuff)

Tom Odell (his hair... his voice...)

Imagine Dragons

Nina Nesbitt (esp. No Interest, Stay Out, Tough Love, Statues and Just Before Goodbye) (I'm just totally in love with her style tbqh)

The Artic Monkeys

Can't any of them just smile in their photos?
Anywaaay... Thank you for reading this post (if you made it down to here) and so on.
!Hasta Pronto! (would have written the French but can't be bothered to get the accents. Aren't I nice?)
